More Than Conquerors
Are you a warrior? The Bible says you are. God’s Word tells us that we have weapons (2 Corinthians 10:4), we wear armor (Ephesians 6:10-18), and that we defeat every weapon forged against us (Isaiah 54:17). In fact, it tells us that we conquerors, more than conquerors, in fact.
Romans 8:36-37 reads:
36 As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long;
we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
We are not sheep sent to be slaughtered. We are winners. We are conquerors.
God, for the Win!
This past week, the theme song was “Awake, Hell Shakes” by Vann Lantz. To be honest, I had not heard of this artist or this song until it randomly appeared in a feed on YouTube. I rarely watch YouTube, so this was a true God moment. You can watch the video below:
To begin the chorus, Lantz sings, “Hell shakes, when this child of God awakes.” This morning, Detric Howell will awaken, and hell will shake. Detric was a man who served Satan for years. In fact, in his hometown in Illinois, many of the people even referred to him as “the Devil.” Not anymore. Detric is a child of God and will be leading the Divine Shine business. He is back in his kids’ lives and has become an inspiration for his entire family as they are seeing God move in amazing and wondrous ways in his life.
Braedon Bonnell is also shaking hell when he arises this morning. Braedon acknowledges that Satan had a hold over his life, leading him to drugs and alcohol as well as a series of very poor decisions that were corrupting and destroying his life. “I could feel the presence of the devil in my life. I can’t explain it, but I was making a lot of decisions that didn’t seem to make sense.”
Those decisions separated Braedon from his family, including his daughter, but not anymore. Braedon is now on target to graduate in less than seven months, has built a strong faith, and is deeply rooted in his church (FaithLife). Satan is defeated this day, as Braedon will awaken to honor God.
Hell Shudders!
In James 2:19, the disciple writes, “You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder!”
The Greek word for shudder is φρίσσω, which means to be horrified, to have extreme fear. This is what happens each day when our men arise ready to battle Satan, fully equipped with the Armor of God. It also happens because you and people like you are helping Hope CDA and its men to be successful followers of Jesus, overcoming years of addiction and poor choices. Now, through your generosity, love, and support, 13 current participants and 36 graduates are making hell and its demons quake in fear. You are helping to defeat the gates of hell through volunteering, donating, praying, and numerous other ways. Thank you for building lives and offering hope.
Hope Good News
Tyler Carpenter began last Monday. Tyler is married and is overcoming an addiction to methamphetamine so that he can return to his family… Tyler reached 90 days of sobriety on Wednesday. Well done, our brother… The Hope CDA Prayer Team is coming together to help defeat the gates of hell. If you would like to be a part of this team, please contact Tahsha Jones (Tahsha.J@HopeCDAcr.org).
Need Something Notarized
Are you in need of a document notarized? Dr. Robert Pannier can take care of that for you. Call and set up an appointment and Rob will happily notarize your document for you. We are just asking for you to make a donation to Hope CDA, but no fee will be charged for the service.
Prayers for the Week
We ask you to join in prayer for these things:
- We pray for Tyler and his family as Tyler starts his journey at Hope CDA. May God look out after them and make Tyler the best dad and husband he can be.
- For Braedon who has a court appearance this Thursday. May God bless him, Granting mercy and justice.
- For Satan and his plans to be defeated in the lives of our men. May God provide us strength and grace.
- Troy Lloyd will be heading on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic later this month. We pray for Troy’s safety and impact on this community.
