It’s Showtime at the DoubleTree!

It’s October 2, 2025, and you know what that means? Yes, we know it’s National Fried Scallops Day, but that is not the big deal. Today is Hope CDA Day as recognized by the Cedar Rapids City Council. It is also the day we celebrate all that God is doing with the 5th Annual Hope CDA Gala.

The Gala will kickoff at 6:00 p.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in downtown Cedar Rapids. This promises to be an exciting night that not only features great stories and presentations about the Hope program, but will also feature Christian comedian-ventriloquist David Pendleton. David will perform for about 40 minutes tonight, adding to what promises to be a night to remember.

The night will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m. If you are scheduled to attend, please be checked in and seated at your table by that time. Cedar Rapids will be providing a parking attendant for those who do not wish to use the QR Code app. Cost for parking is $10.

Your table host, the person who invited you, will know what table you are sitting at. If you have not been informed, the Hope CDA participants will be available in the lobby to check you in and let you know where you are sitting.

We look forward to seeing you there tonight. Please pray that God uses this evening to highlight the work that He is doing at Hope CDA and that this will help to keep the program running strong for this upcoming year and years to come.

So, get ready everybody. It’s Showtime!

Prayers for the Week

We ask you to join in prayer for these things:

  1. Tim Ehlers is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday for a bond hearing. We pray that the judge will release Tim.
  2. We pray for Thursday night to be a truly spectacular evening that glorifies God. Let Satan have no place at Thursday night’s gathering.
  3. We pray for Steven Yarborough, who was hospitalized yesterday. Please pray for healing for Steve.
